Beschreibung
After having watched Steve Martin's masterclass about stand-up comedy, we want to broaden our horizon by checking out Judd Apatow, an American film director, producer, screenwriter, and comedian. He will teach us comedy performance as well as writing comedic dialogue, while also talking about the basics of filmmaking, like creating characters, developing stories, directing and production and even editing and music.
There are 32 vidoes in total, of which we will watch as many as possible by the end of the semester and then your assignment will be to create a funny shortfilm for which you have to write the scenes and maybe even act it out yourself. This can be done alone or in groups.
I advise you to take notes during class since there will be a discussion, held in English, after every video (which we watch together in a Google Drive folder that will be created for the entire class).
Furthermore, there is no obligatory weekly homework, however, it is recommended that you revise or summarize the previous lessons for yourself or even share a summary of your thoughts online with the class via Google Classroom, where everyone can post links, movie recommendations, questions and more to help and inform each other.
